Singapore car rentals

Americans visiting the city-state of Singapore are often surprised by its chic and functional demeanor but also by its natural surrounds, which have been nicely preserved in certain places and often get overlooked. Moreover, the cultural makeup of this small country continues to expand and already features a unique mix of Malay, Chinese, Indian and some Western cultures spread across an immensely important world commerce capital.

Travelers’ favorites

There are dozens of great attractions dotted around this small destination; among the most popular are the exciting ethnic neighborhoods of Little India and Chinatown, which both add to the great culinary and cultural aspects of the city. A short ride away via MRT train or car rental can take one to a great performance at the Esplanade Theatres on the Bay or perhaps to lovely MacRitchie Reservoir or Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, where fabulous equatorial greenery awaits just minutes from urban comforts. The city also features great museums such as the Asian Civilisations Museum and stunning fauna at the Singapore Botanic Gardens.

Best time to visit

The best time to visit Singapore relies mostly on each visitor’s own agenda; the weather is hot and wet throughout the year on this equatorial island. November, December and January are generally the wettest months, while May, June and July are generally drier. Storms move out quickly but rainfall is often torrential.

Driving in Singapore

Those choosing to forego the public transportation system in Singapore can enjoy far less traffic than seen in most Asian cities and can compare car hire rates to find some very reasonable deals. Be aware however as an American car hire patron that driving takes place on the left in Singapore, which despite great road conditions can be difficult for some.
