Saint Kitts and Nevis
Car rentals Saint Kitts and Nevis
The dual-island nation of Saint Kitts and Nevis boasts everything that American travelers look for in a Caribbean holiday: ideal beaches, cool breezes, infectious local charm and great diving. This comes alongside a nice array of forested rolling terrain, complete with a volcano, as well as plenty of renowned resorts.
Traveler favorites
Perhaps the top destination for travelers from far and wide is Frigate Bay, a resort-laden enclave on Saint Kitts, where the hospitality is only surpassed by the beauty of the beaches and the nearby underwater wonders. A quick drive away via car rental is exciting Basseterre, a lively cruise ship port and the country’s cultural, political and economic capital. A short ferry trip can take visitors to quaint Charleston, set on the smaller and volcano-topped island of Nevis, which offers plenty of great beaches and a good helping of scenic hiking.
Best time to visit
Many argue that anytime is the best time to visit Saint Kitts and Nevis. However despite plenty of beautiful days and great deals on hotels and car hire, most choose to avoid the Atlantic hurricane season, which lasts from July to November. Temperatures see little change year-round but cool slightly in the high season from December to March. February through June is generally the drier part of the year.
Driving in Saint Kitts and Nevis
Visitors headed to Saint Kitts and Nevis should be sure to compare car hire options as this can be a great way to see more of the country than just resorts. Be aware however that unlike the US, driving is done on the left-hand side of the road. Roads are generally in good condition but can be narrow and are often not clearly marked.
