As a neighbor to America, getting down south of the border and to Mexico could not be easier. From the glorious beaches on the Caribbean coast to the stunning landmarks of the ancient civilizations, Mexico has it all. But perhaps a starting point is the capital Mexico City. This sprawling massive city has one the largest of centers in the world with the Zocalo Square, which is also home to the magnificent Metropolitan Cathedral. Equally the National Palace draws travelers to view the impressive landmark.

Out on the eastern coast Cancun has been a favorite spot for tourists from America but the more established resort is in Acapulco. The vibrant nightlife, the class restaurants and the Pacific Ocean are all good reasons to take a trip to the resort city. In the mountains the remains of the past cultures are only matched by those further south in Latin America. The Mayan ruins of the Yucatan Peninsula are just one of the UNESCO World heritage sites worth a visit from Cancun.

Best time to Visit

Mexico is hot most of the time, unless it is up in the mountains. On the coast of the Caribbean the temperatures can get into the high 30’s whilst on the Pacific side it is a more stable temperate climate. Much depends on which part of Mexico is visited, but the beauty of this is that when its gets too cold in the northern states, then heading south to Mexico is a convenient location to choose.

Driving in Mexico

It would be fair to say that driving in Mexico can be full of surprises due to the slightly haphazard ways of the locals. Mexico City is something of a disaster when it comes to traffic so although the car hire might be available, it could be wise to use the Metro. Out in the holiday a resorts it’s a different story, but the answer is to be aware that in Mexico the chances are that the more unusual will happen on the roads.
