Indonesia car rentals

Indonesia is situated in Southeast Asia and is an unusual country because it is made of up over 17,000 islands. Indonesia is easy to reach for American travelers, as there are numerous routes to take, many connect through Japan, Taiwan or South Korea.

What to do

Indonesia has thousands of great places to visit it’s hard to fit all of them in on a single trip. Two beach hotspots are Lombok and Bali; Bali is very popular with Australians but lately has also been attracting American travelers because of its gorgeous beaches, clean sea, diving opportunities, lively nightlife and world-class surfing spots.

The capital of Jakarta is a surprisingly enjoyable travel hub too. The city is fairly modern and has some interesting markets for visitors to explore. Indonesia also has millions of dense rainforest that can also be explored and using car hire to explore Indonesia is a convenient way to experience all it has to offer.

Weather

Indonesia is a tropical country and boasts warm temperatures year round, except on the highest peaks. It does also experience a wet monsoon season, which starts around November and goes on for about four months. The dry season from June to September is the best to explore if you want to use car rental, visit the beach and try out trekking in the many rain forests.

Driving in Indonesia

To drive in Indonesia you need a valid international license. In general, the roads in the cities are in good condition but those in rural areas are often in much poorer shape, especially in the wet season. Be aware as an American that driving takes place on the left side of the road here, and if you’re headed over during local holidays you’ll want to compare car hire options and book ahead of time.
