Car hire Fiji
The beautiful islands of Fiji, located off the east coast of Australia, are some of the most stunning tropical islands in the world. There are 332 of them to choose from, although only a third are inhabited. Although the islands are small, public transport is expensive and therefore car rental in Fiji is a good idea. It pays to compare car hire before you leave to ensure you get the cheapest prices.
Flights to Fiji from the US aren’t direct, although the shortest distance is with a stop in Hawaii. There are no visa requirements and once you enter, you have up to four months stay permitted. American travelers find Fiji to be a tropical oasis type of island similar to Caribbean islands, but has an extra pull due to the local culture.
Best attractions to see
The volcanoes, lakes, rives, valleys and stunning beaches are some of the best natural attractions not only in Fiji, but possibly the world. The larger islands have open areas where safaris can take place and in the busy cities, there are museums, large hotel resorts and harbors.
In the jungles and up the hills offer great opportunities to go whitewater rafting or rock climbing. Aside from driving hire car around, cycling is popular, although bike rental is expensive. Scuba diving, sport fishing and snorkeling offer some of the most memorable things to do in Fiji. If you prefer a more sedate time, then relaxing on the beach sipping a cocktail can also be arranged.
Best time to stay
There are almost no seasons in Fiji. Year round, it’s hot, humid and has the occasional tropical downpour. There are cyclones, so it’s best to steer clear of peak storm season around February. For American tourists, perhaps the best time to go would be in the late spring, to kick-start your tan for the summer in the US.
