Car hire Egypt

The land of the Pharaohs and pyramids has been a popular place for travelers from all over the world for many years. Egypt is a beautiful country that is rich in culture and history, friendly people, hearty food and amazing market stalls. It’s a large country and has coastlines in the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea, as well as one of the most well known rivers, the Nile.

Americans traveling to Egypt should compare car hire online before their flight to secure their favored car. Using car rental in Egypt is a great way to explore the deserts, meander through the cities of Cairo and Sharm el-Sheikh and towards the scuba diving regions of Sinai. US travelers need to pay $15 for a visa on arrival.

Visitors’ attractions

A trip to Egypt wouldn’t be complete without seeing the pyramids, and Cairo, the capital, is the place to see the Giza Pyramids and an array of museums. Dahab is perfect for scuba diving enthusiasts, while Sharm el-Sheikh is home to the best beaches in the country.

The country is rich in culture and there are many religious buildings, such as mosques, that are beautiful and worth seeing. The Valley of the Kings is another great place to go and is located in Luxor. Taking a boat on the Nile is a must-do and for those that like to shop, then the Fatimid Cairo souks (markets) offer the perfect opportunity.

Best time to visit

Although Egypt is mainly a desert, there are cold regions, especially during the wintertime in December and January. The summer time is the most popular with tourists, particularly Americans, but temperatures can reach over 100 degrees. March is the wettest time of year, but that rain can help take the edge of the heat although it does bring humidity when the sun comes back out.
