Car hire Croatia

With the Euro not yet implemented, Croatia is one of the few European countries that is still cheap for tourists. American travelers head to the tourist zones of Dubrovnik, Zagreb and Pula. Being so close to Italy and Montenegro, staying in Croatia might be part of a country-hopping vacation, but even still car rental in Croatia is a great choice as there are so many places to see that are spread out.

Compare car hire online before you head to the country to take advantage of lower costs. With the ancient cities of Split and Osijek, to the stunning coastal retreat of Rijeka being worth a visit, a hire car suddenly makes sense. There are no visa laws for American tourists, so disagree with border guards if they want payment.

Travelers’ favorites

The Krka National Park is a beautiful place and one of the most visited natural areas of the country. During the summer, when temperatures can crack 90 degrees, Dubrovnik is one of the best coastal cities and boasts beautiful beaches, many of which are nudist colonies; so be warned!

Sailing is popular with tourists from Split to other marinas along the coast. The coastal cities have amazing shopping opportunities, but prices are slightly higher than they are inland as many cruise ships stop by. Zagreb is a completely different city compared to the other ancient places in the country, as it is very modern and has many universities yet is a laid-back place and one of the most fun to stay in.

Best time to visit

The springtime is the best time to go, this is when the temperatures aren’t too unbearable and it’s not too busy with tourists trying to top up their tan and buy as many holiday items as possible. American travelers will most likely enjoy the beaches of Dubrovnik and Pula.
