Car hire in Costa Rica
American travelers can enjoy Costa Rica’s vast amount of varied landscapes, which range from volcanoes to rain forests. The country is situated in Central America and is easily accessible from the US via Juan Santamaria airport, which is also a popular and convenient place to collect car hire.
Travel
The airport is served by a good selection of airlines, many of which provide regular, if not daily flights directly to Costa Rica. For instance, American Airlines, Delta and US Airways are just a few airlines you can fly with, generally via New York, Miami, Atlanta and Houston.
When you arrive at the airport you will find there are plenty of handy facilities. For instance, if you need to check your emails you can easily do so thanks to wireless internet access being available throughout. You can also collect a car rental from the airport, as suppliers such as Thrifty and Sixt have fleets on-site, as well as customer service desks.
When to visit
One of the best times of year to visit Costa Rica is in the dry season, which starts around December and lasts until April. In this season you will find that it does rain occasionally, but as the day heats up a spot of rain is often a welcomed sight. If you want to visit at a quieter time of year, then rainy season is recommended, which starts around May.

Once you arrive in Costa Rica you will soon find there are many different cities for you to explore such as San Jose, Dominical and Liberia.
Car hire will also enable you to visit more of the countries amazing national parks, such as: Carara National Park, which is known to be home to more than 400 bird species; and Cahiota National Park, which is located on a beach and is home to parrots and toucans.
