Bangor Airport is known officially as Bangor International Airport and is set on the west side of Interstate 95 from downtown Bangor in the US state of Maine. The commercial terminal shares the airport with the US military and is also an important cargo airport due being situated on the great circle route linking the United States and Europe.
This is a fairly small facility though there are some helpful amenities on hand including cash machines, luggage carts, shopping, disability assistance, free wireless internet access and car rental in Bangor Airport. Passengers can dine at the Red Baron Lounge or grab baked goods and coffee at the airport’s own coffee shop.
The route network from Bangor Airport stretches to many of the main hub airports in the eastern United States including Philadelphia, LaGuardia Airport in New York, Detroit and Washington. There are also nonstops heading to both Orlando and St Petersburg in Florida. Airlines on offer include US Airways Express, Delta Connection and Allegiant Airlines.
Those headed here may want to consider car rental in Bangor Airport as it is one of the best ways to experience Maine’s expansive scenery. Companies operating from the terminal building include Avis, Budget, Hertz and Alamo, all of which are situated against the wall next to the Godfrey Blvd entrance to the airport.
Passengers not utilising car rental can utilise taxis, limousines or bus services. There are more than a dozen taxi companies serving the airport as well as about five limousine companies. Meanwhile, bus services including public BAT buses and private companies heading to several nearby areas depart regularly. There are also about eight nearby hotels that offer free airport shuttles.
